The Juice is back with their highly anticipated single, Pieces. Hot off festival appearances and a national tour, this UK indie-pop band continues to impress with their infectious hooks and knack for uplifting anthemic melodies. Pieces kicks off with a delicate, twinkling intro before erupting into a powerful, chorus that leaves an unforgettable impression. This dynamic track exemplifies The Juice’s ability to blend contrasting tones, making it a must-have on any indie playlist.
Having graced stages at renowned festivals like Truck, Y Not?, and the Isle of Wight Festival, The Juice has proven their ability to captivate audiences. Their energetic performances have also been seen at venues as prestigious as The Etihad Stadium, where they performed as part of the Champions League pre-match entertainment. With appearances on BBC Lancashire’s Introducing Show and a feature of their single Rip It Up on Made In Chelsea, the band’s rise has been nothing short of electric.
In Pieces, lead vocalist Joe explains, “We wanted to write something that starts with a gentle vibe and then builds into something big and anthemic, almost like two different songs in one.” Guitarist Jack adds depth to the song’s message, sharing how it draws from his personal experiences with mental health struggles, symbolizing a journey from low moments to a triumphant resurgence of joy and resilience. This emotional journey paired with a contrast between soft verses and explosive choruses highlights The Juice’s unique ability to combine feel-good indie-pop with emotional weight.
Founded by brothers Joe and Jack from Preston, The Juice expanded to a five-piece just before lockdown, adding brothers Ross and James, as well as drummer Leachy, to the lineup. Their sound pays homage to legendary North West British music influences like The Beatles and The Stone Roses while incorporating each member’s diverse tastes, ranging from ska and new wave to heavy metal. The band’s name even carries a bit of rock ‘n’ roll history; after initially calling themselves Joe and The Juice, they serendipitously met Serge from Kasabian at Y Not Festival, who approved their moniker, leading to the final name, The Juice.
With accolades from tastemakers like Radio X’s John Kennedy and praise from industry insiders, The Juice is a band with an exciting future. Pieces is another step on their journey to becoming one of the UK’s breakout indie-pop acts. With captivating songwriting, dynamic melodies, and a realness that resonates deeply, The Juice is undoubtedly one to watch.
