Mychelle Returns with Soulful New Single “Sweet Nothings”

Hackney-born singer-songwriter Mychelle unveils her latest single, “Sweet Nothings,” released via FAMM. A moment of pure creative instinct, the song came to her effortlessly while cycling home—an organic spark that defines much of her songwriting. Produced by Fred Cox, “Sweet Nothings” is a softly assertive declaration of self-contentment, making it clear that she has no desire for a certain someone to return anytime soon.

“This track is for anyone that is over the Sweet Nothings that come out of someone’s mouth. They’re not going to work this time. Go away,” Mychelle shares. Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video that captures Mychelle’s quiet strength and resilience. Set on a football field—one of her personal sanctuaries—the video reflects the spirit of sisterhood, sport, and open-air freedom. In a cinematic vignette, Mychelle takes her place at the goalpost, embodying the same grace, confidence, and grounded energy that she channels into her music.

Growing up in Stoke Newington, just steps from Clissold Park, Mychelle was raised in a home filled with music. She picked up the guitar at age 10 but didn’t fully embrace it until 17, when she began songwriting and performing. However, her biggest challenge was overcoming shyness. Instead of retreating, she took to the streets of London as a busker, using the city as both a stage and a proving ground.

One fateful day, her raw talent caught the attention of FAMM, leading to a life-changing opportunity and the start of her professional journey. With each performance, she refined her craft, shedding self-doubt and developing the captivating presence that now defines her artistry.

Mychelle’s soulful storytelling and distinctive voice have earned her support from The Metro, Evening Standard, Dork, and Clash, along with airplay from DJ Target, Adele Roberts, and Jamz Supernova.

Her live performances have taken her to some of the most respected stages, including Montreux Jazz Festival (CHE), Boardmasters, Deershed, Into the Great Wild (NL), and a tour with Michael Kiwanuka. She recently announced upcoming performances at Across The Tracks in London, with more to come this year.
