Carmie Unveils Heartfelt Single “First Flight To France”

Danish singer-songwriter Carmie is embracing a fresh musical direction with the release of her new single “First Flight To France,” arriving August 21, 2026. The track marks the beginning of a new chapter for the rising artist as she explores the storytelling traditions of modern country music through a Scandinavian pop lens.

As country music continues to gain momentum in Denmark, Carmie is among a new generation of artists bringing the genre’s emotional storytelling, relatable narratives, and melodic warmth into a contemporary Nordic sound.

On “First Flight To France,” Carmie, born Christine Aggerholm, captures the familiar experience of two people falling in love at completely different speeds. The song follows the contrast between someone still trying to understand their feelings and someone already imagining a future together, complete with a home, a dog, and a romantic first trip to France.

Built around an infectious groove, subtle gospel-inspired harmonies, and Nashville-influenced guitar lines, the single combines the emotional honesty of country music with the polished melodies of Scandinavian pop. The result is an uplifting and memorable introduction to Carmie’s evolving sound.

“I’ve always been drawn to the way country music tells stories. These new songs gave me the freedom to explore that side of my songwriting even more, and ‘First Flight To France’ feels like the perfect introduction to this new universe,” says Carmie.

Known for her ability to balance vulnerability with strength, Carmie has quickly established herself as one of Denmark’s promising emerging singer-songwriters. Her music is defined by honest lyrics, emotional depth, and a natural ability to turn personal experiences into songs that feel universally relatable.

Following the release of her 2025 EP Learn To Live, Carmie has continued building momentum through performances at respected showcase festivals including SPOT Festival and UHØRT. She also delivered her first international performance in the Faroe Islands, while earning recognition from GAFFA as both Ugens Nye Navn and Hold Øje Med, alongside two Ugens Hittip selections on Danish national radio station P4.

With “First Flight To France,” Carmie opens the door to a new musical world where country storytelling meets Scandinavian pop sensibility, showcasing an artist unafraid to evolve while staying true to the emotions at the heart of her songwriting.
