Philadelphia’s rising alt-rock trio Caring Less cement their raw, emotive sound with their sophomore EP Whatever You Want. Following their teaser single “So Sick,” the four-track project blends raspy vocals, post-punk edge, and dreamy indie-rock into a potent reflection on love and loss in your mid-20s.
Recorded at Philly’s legendary Headroom Studios, the EP thrives on contrast—Sara Johnson’s soulful, Morissette-esque vocals glide over Ryan Acito’s moody basslines and Nicholas Kreh’s punchy drums, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and urgent. Tracks like the brooding opener and the anthemic closer showcase the band’s knack for melodic hooks laced with emotional grit, perfect for late-night drives or basement show mosh pits.

Speaking about the EP, the group explains “We wrote the songs on the “Whatever You Want” EP together to capture the tensions of love and loss that we’ve experienced individually and collectively through our mid-20’s; we brought these songs to the Philadelphia recording institution Headroom Studios to help us continue evolving our soulful and dreamy rock and roll sound.”
Hailing from Philadelphia, Caring Less is a fast-rising indie band with a vibrant passion for nostalgic grooves and hard-hitting melodies. Taking cues from the likes of Alanis Morissette and Jeff Buckley, the band is no stranger to gracing local stages, having featured regularly on the circuit as well as appearing on their local radio stations RSD release, ‘Homegrown Originals’.
Working hard to become staples of the Philadelphia scene, the group consists of lead singer Sara Johnson, bassist Ryan Acito and drummer Nicholas Kreh.
With Whatever You Want, Caring Less deliver a raw, raspy alt-pop confessional—equal parts grit and grace, it’s the sound of a band turning heartbreak into heat
