Night Walks Shares new Indie-Rock Anthem ‘Pressure’

Following the release of ‘Momentum’ earlier in the year, USA-based alt-rock four-piece Night Walks are back as they unleash their latest single, ‘Pressure’. Taken from their forthcoming debut album, the band looks to take it up a notch as they head into the summer with an emphatic, biting prowess.

Crossing the floor of alt-rock and indie pop, ‘Pressure’ encapsulates the alluring energies of Night Walks. As chorus-laden guitar lines cut jangle-esque melodies across the airwaves, dynamic percussion and atmospheric synth lines bring a defiant sense of energy to the single. The track demonstrates the vast nature of the band’s songwriting, showing their hand as true alternative craftsmen whilst lacing their sound with a sticky, pop momentum.

Speaking about how the track came together, the group dive in, “This was probably our first truly collaborative effort as a band. It started with Sam (bass), who kinda embarked on a songwriting exercise after being inspired by this War on Drugs track, starting with a “dream,” then describing all this vivid imagery and emotion throughout the song. He sent that around and I (David, frontman) immediately remember getting inspired by it. I was travelling at the time and saved the demo on my phone, jamming along to it and writing a second verse and alternate chorus while sitting on an aeroplane. The original demo is very different, but once we played it as a full band, it just exploded into this unique jam with everyone bringing their flavour to the track.”

Night Walks emerged from Maryland, USA, in 2022, casting their distinctive alternative glow across the local musical scene. Initially born from an excuse to share cheap beer and escape their collective millennial malaise, the project quickly evolved into something more profound. Drawing inspiration from David Bowie’s cosmic swagger and Bruce Springsteen’s anthemic energy, the quartet—frontman David French, bassist Sam Hughes, multi-instrumentalist Shawn Korkie, and drummer Alex Kohler—craft a sound uniquely their own. They soon caught the ear of veteran producer Steve Wright (Future Islands), who helped transform their brooding demos into fully realized alt-rock anthems. Now, as summer 2025 approaches, Night Walks stands poised to unveil their hotly anticipated debut album.
