Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, recently disclosed his plans for a career shift amid his announced break from music. The Starboy boss revealed that he intends to venture into acting, expressing his desire to engage in on-screen activities such as kissing scenes and handling firearms for movie roles.
Wizkid shared this revelation through his Instagram story, stating in Pidgin, “Shebi I tell una I one dey act film!…I just want dey kiss and shoot a gun for a movie. Daz all!!” This announcement emerged shortly after he was seen in the company of prolific Nollywood filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.
In addition to his budding interest in acting, Wizkid hinted at the possibility of extending his hiatus from the music scene. Initially suggesting a break of three to four years, the ‘Essence’ crooner is now contemplating stretching it to six years, as indicated in his Instagram story: “Loving every bit of this holiday. Might extend to six years.”
Wizkid’s dual revelations have sparked interest and curiosity among fans, creating anticipation for his potential on-screen debut while keeping listeners intrigued about the duration of his musical hiatus.
