The Rolling People Make a Bold Statement with “Reign”

Stockport’s rising stars, The Rolling People, are finishing 2024 with a bang, delivering their high-energy anthem “Reign” as their final single of the year. Following the success of their previous releases, including the riff-driven “The Thief” and the explosive “I’ll Be There,” “Reign” sees the four-piece rock band at their most confident and commanding.

The track is a roaring statement of intent, blending aggressive guitar riffs with dynamic rhythms that pulse with energy. The driving intro sets the tone for what’s to come—an assertive anthem about taking control and rejecting external influence. Frontman Charlie McNichol captures this message perfectly, explaining that “Reign” is about standing firm in the face of adversity and refusing to let others dictate your path. The lyrics convey a sense of hope and empowerment, with the soaring chorus driving home the idea of pushing forward, no matter the obstacles.

Since signing with LAB Records earlier this year, The Rolling People have quickly gained traction in the indie scene, earning playlist placements on Apple Music and Spotify, as well as support from XS Manchester and Radio X’s X-Posure. Their music exudes a youthful energy that’s far from the tired tropes of traditional indie rock—“Reign” is fresh, forward-thinking, and a perfect representation of the band’s raw ambition.

As they prepare for their biggest homecoming show yet at Manchester’s O2 Ritz on December 21, “Reign” solidifies The Rolling People’s place as one of 2024’s most exciting new acts. With a growing reputation and a year packed with achievements, this Stockport quartet is poised to take 2025 by storm.
