Speaking about the album, the pair dive in, “A lot of struggles were happening in our lives when we wrote this album. Our exploration of these struggles happened alongside and through the sonic and lyrical explorations found in these songs. ‘Creatures in the Dirt’ is ultimately about a tumultuous journey towards compassion for ourselves and one another.”

Hailing from Palmdale, California, The Hogstad Brothers are an outfit of songwriter-producer instrumentalists who create immersive dance environments by live-mixing alluring, danceable soundscapes with human-interactive psychedelic projections. After moving to New York in 2008, the duo quickly started forming bands and writing music that embodied their eclectic tastes and brotherly bond. In 2018, Earmilk championed the self-titled EP of Flyer Learning, the band they had previously founded. Debuting under their moniker in 2021, they released their EP, ‘A World of Love and Hate,’ featuring vocalist Shola Adisa-Farrar, to strong acclaim. Looking forward to 2025, they gear up to release their long-awaited debut album, ‘Creatures in the Dirt.’

With ‘Creatures in the Dirt’, The Hogstad Brothers have crafted a sonic tapestry that transcends mere music, delving into the depths of personal struggle and illuminating a path toward compassion and self-acceptance. This debut album is not just an introduction to their artistry; it’s a celebration of their journey, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a dynamic blend of sticky melodies and experimental production that resonates long after the final note.
