Emerging alt-rock band Porcelain is gearing up for the release of their latest single, ‘Escape Routes’, set to drop this August. Known for their infectious energy and evocative lyricism, this exciting four-piece continues to carve out a unique space in the alternative rock scene. With their latest offering, Porcelain promises to deliver a track that further cements their reputation as a band to watch, blending atmospheric soundscapes with introspective lyrics.
Hailing from Newcastle, the band—composed of Curtis, Dan, Adam, and Kane—has been steadily capturing the attention of both fans and critics alike. With their distinctive blend of emotive melodies and engaging live performances, they’ve already garnered support from influential platforms such as Radio X, Generator, and This Feeling. Their gig history is impressive, with numerous shows across the UK that have only fueled their growing reputation as one of the most promising acts in the alternative rock circuit.
‘Escape Routes’, is a relaxed, ambient, and spacey track, showcasing Porcelain’s evolving sound. Layered with swirling guitar tones and reverb-heavy melodies, the song draws inspiration from psychedelic, prog, and art rock, reflecting the band’s more experimental side. With influences from Radiohead, Muse, Pink Floyd, and Tame Impala, the track’s intricate instrumentation and ethereal vocals weave together to create a deeply atmospheric listening experience, signalling the band’s ambition to push the boundaries of their genre.
Frontman Curtis comments on the release, “The song, perhaps, is about feeling adrift, either from your own self, another person, or another thing, place, or time. When I hear the song, I hear a longing of some kind. It’s a very vulnerable song, one which I was, at first, worried about putting out. The whole ‘blown wide open’ lyric is about being in a state of vulnerability too, and hoping that someone has the humanity to pull you out of it. Although it may not sound like it, the song is about optimism and hope.”
