PinkPantheress Shares Cinematic “Girl Like Me” Video

PinkPantheress is marking the one-year anniversary of her acclaimed mixtape Fancy That with the release of the long-awaited music video for fan-favourite track, Girl Like Me. Directed by Lauzza, the visual opens in a surreal talk show setting featuring beloved British television personality Davina McCall before spiralling into a vibrant, rhythm-driven world that mirrors the song’s hypnotic energy and playful unpredictability.

The release arrives at a major moment in PinkPantheress’ career following her widely praised debut performances at Coachella. Her sets showcased the artist’s growing confidence as a live performer while highlighting the genre-blurring creativity that has made her one of the most exciting names in modern pop music. Rolling Stone described the performance as evidence of “an artist transformed,” noting that she still feels like someone only beginning to tap into her full potential.

Her Coachella appearances were packed with surprise guests and collaborators, including Thundercat, Dev Hynes, Janelle Monáe, Zara Larsson, The Dare, and Ninajirachi, alongside appearances from internet and pop culture personalities such as Meg Stalter, Slayyyter, Horsegiirl, and Manon. Actor Tyriq Withers also appeared in a starring role as Romeo, adding a cinematic edge to the performances.

Originally released in May last year, Fancy That represented another bold step in PinkPantheress’ artistic evolution. Written and produced by the singer alongside collaborators including aksel arvid, Count Baldor, Oscar Scheller, phil, and The Dare, the project expanded her signature fusion of UK garage, drum and bass, alt-pop, and electronic textures into something more adventurous and globally resonant.

The mixtape has since become PinkPantheress’ third project to surpass one billion Spotify streams, reinforcing her place as one of the defining voices of a new internet-era generation of pop stars. Its expanded remix edition, Fancy Some More?, further widened the project’s reach by bringing together an international lineup of artists across 22 reimagined tracks.

One of the era’s biggest moments came through Stateside + Zara Larsson, which propelled PinkPantheress to the top of Billboard’s Global 200 chart. The achievement made her the first English female artist since Adele’s Easy On Me to reach No. 1 on the chart. With more than 500 million streams, Stateside also became her seventh UK Official Charts Top 40 hit and another entry on the Billboard Hot 100.

With Girl Like Me, PinkPantheress continues to build on a career defined by experimentation, internet culture, and genre fluidity, proving that even one year later, the Fancy That era still has plenty of life left in it.
