Missy Elliott has announced her first-ever headlining tour, titled “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience Tour,” which is set to cover 24 cities across North America this summer. The tour will feature hip-hop legends Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland as supporting acts, taking fans back to the ’90s, a pivotal time in their careers.
Mona Scott-Young, Missy Elliott’s tour manager, shared insights into the timing of the tour, emphasizing that Missy Elliott’s decision to embark on a tour likely stemmed from her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. This significant achievement may have prompted her to pursue a goal she had put off for a long time—going out on the road.
The tour is scheduled to kick off in Vancouver on July 4 and will conclude on August 22 in Illinois. The lineup includes key stops in cities such as Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Houston, Tampa, and Toronto, among others.
Missy Elliott announced the tour in a futuristic clip directed by Dave Meyers, which was shared on her social media platforms. The video featured everyone except Timbaland, who was unavailable for the shoot.
This tour marks a significant milestone in Missy Elliott’s illustrious career, offering fans a unique opportunity to experience the iconic artist’s live performances alongside other legendary figures in hip-hop.
