Mac Miller’s Posthumous Album Balloonerism Officially Releases January 17

The legacy of Mac Miller continues to shine as his long-awaited project Balloonerism is set for an official release on January 17, 2025. Previously circulated in various unofficial forms online, the posthumous album now arrives in its completed and fully realized version, highlighting Miller’s enduring creative brilliance.

Balloonerism features a compelling tracklist that showcases Miller’s versatility and artistic depth. Among the album’s most anticipated moments are collaborations with SZA on the soulful “DJ’s Chord Organ” and a guest appearance by Miller’s alter ego, Delusional Thomas, on “Transformations.” Beyond these features, the project remains centered on Mac’s singular voice and vision.

In a statement shared by Miller’s family, they expressed gratitude for the continued support from fans and collaborators alike:

“Many of Malcolm’s fans are aware of Balloonerism, a full-length album that Malcolm created around the time of the release of Faces in 2014. It is a project that was of great importance to Malcolm — to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions concerning when it should be released were had regularly, though ultimately GO:OD AM and subsequent albums ended up taking precedence.

We believe the project showcases both the breadth of his musical talents and fearlessness as an artist. Given that unofficial versions of the album have circulated online for years and that releasing Balloonerism was something that Malcolm frequently expressed being important to him, we felt it most appropriate to present an official version of the project to the world. With that in mind, we’re happy to announce that Balloonerism will be released on January 17th, 2025.”

Fans can look forward to experiencing Balloonerism’s rich tapestry of sound, which blends introspective lyricism with innovative production—a hallmark of Miller’s artistry. The album’s release adds another chapter to his influential catalog, reminding the world of the profound impact he continues to have on music and culture.
