Multi-platinum singer, songwriter, producer, and R&B powerhouse Jacquees has officially entered a new era with the release of MOOD 2 via Cash Money Records, nearly a decade after his influential 2016 mixtape Mood introduced fans to the signature sound and energy that would become synonymous with his name.
Transforming the foundation of the original project into a full-length album, MOOD 2 delivers a 22-track body of work that reflects Jacquees’ growth, longevity, and continued impact on contemporary R&B.
“10 years later… what started as a mixtape is finally an album. Some music never leaves you, it just waits for the right time. Thank y’all for keeping MOOD alive,” says Jacquees.
Originally released in 2016 following his signing to Cash Money Records, Mood arrived during a defining period for R&B. As a new wave of artists explored ways to honor the genre’s roots while introducing fresh perspectives, Jacquees created his own lane by combining the emotion and intimacy of classic R&B with modern production, melodic songwriting, and undeniable confidence.
The project helped establish him as one of the genre’s most promising voices and laid the foundation for a career that has since produced billions of streams, major collaborations, and a catalog of fan-favorite records.
With MOOD 2, Jacquees revisits the themes that have always connected him with listeners: love, relationships, vulnerability, and personal growth. Across the album’s 22 tracks, he explores the many sides of modern romance, from attraction and passion to heartbreak, trust, healing, and finding meaningful connections.
Tracks such as “Proud Of You,” where he celebrates a partner’s growth, “Accuse Me,” which confronts insecurity and emotional tension, “Time Will Tell,” centered around distance and uncertainty, and “Better Hands,” a record about reassurance and commitment, showcase Jacquees’ ability to turn real-life emotions into relatable R&B storytelling.
The album also bridges generations of the genre by honoring the artists and sounds that influenced him while continuing to push his own artistry forward. On “He Kant,” Jacquees incorporates a nostalgic interpolation of Jagged Edge’s classic “He Can’t Love U,” while “Spend The Night” reimagines Faith Evans’ timeless ’90s record “Soon As I Get Home,” creating a connection between R&B’s past and future.
Fans were introduced to the album’s versatility through previously released singles including “He Kant,” produced by Polow Da Don, “Physical” featuring Tink, “Let You Go” featuring K Camp, and “Lick Back” featuring Cash Money legend Juvenile. Together, the records highlight Jacquees’ ability to move seamlessly between smooth slow jams, modern R&B, Southern influences, and globally inspired sounds while maintaining his signature melodies.
Featuring appearances from BLXST, Kodak Black, NOBY, Rob49, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, MOOD 2 expands Jacquees’ musical world while staying rooted in the emotional storytelling and vocal style that have made him one of R&B’s standout figures.
