Soweto-born electronic music artist and SAMA-nominated producer FKA MASH is continuing the rollout of his forthcoming album EXITECHNO with the release of “Love Is In The Air,” a deep house collaboration featuring UK vocalist Biishop.
The new single brings together two distinct musical worlds, connecting the rich electronic music heritage of Johannesburg with the vocal songwriting sensibilities associated with London. It also continues the creative relationship between FKA MASH and Biishop, following their previous work on “In The Crowd.”
“Love Is In The Air” begins with a warm and immersive production built around lush, jazz-influenced chords. The sound reflects FKA MASH’s years of developing his own approach to electronic music through custom sound design, while drawing from the South African house, jazz and soul traditions that have shaped his work.
Rather than relying solely on a heavy dancefloor approach, the production gives the track an emotional quality. The layered synths, rich chord progressions and detailed percussion create an atmosphere that can work just as naturally in a late-night listening session as it can through a large festival sound system.
Biishop brings the vocal element into sharp focus with a raw and emotive performance. His delivery moves between vulnerability and confidence as he explores themes of connection and presence, fitting naturally into the spacious production around him.
His voice becomes another part of the arrangement, moving through custom synth pads and percussion instead of simply sitting on top of the instrumental. That chemistry gives “Love Is In The Air” a distinctly collaborative feel, with the production and vocals working together to build the song’s atmosphere.

FKA MASH explains that their relationship has largely developed through conversations and remote collaboration, with the two artists working from opposite sides of the world. After “In The Crowd,” their creative connection has now led to “Love Is In The Air.”
“I love working with Biishop. Though I’ve never met him in person, we’ve always spoken over the phone because we stay on two separate ends of the world with him being based in LA and me being based in Soweto. In The Crowd started this working relationship, and now we’re onto Love In The Air. This composition started with another idea in mind, but when I heard the ideas the Biishop has sent me, I knew exactly which song to pair it with. I’m very grateful to finally share this one with the world,” FKA MASH says.
With “Love Is In The Air,” FKA MASH continues to build the world around EXITECHNO, offering another glimpse into an album that promises to explore electronic music beyond conventional boundaries while maintaining the emotional depth that has become central to his sound.
