Global music icon JAŸ-Z is set to take centre stage at the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, marking a major moment in his three-decade career. Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation have announced that the rapper will headline the performance on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
The show will air on ESPN, ABC, and Disney+, with mobile coverage available through NFL+. Spanish-language broadcasts will also be available through ESPN Deportes and Disney+, alongside a separate Spanish-language presentation on Univision.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for JAŸ-Z, who has spent decades shaping hip-hop and influencing popular culture through music, business and philanthropy. He became the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and is a four-time Emmy winner, a 25-time GRAMMY Award winner and a 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
His upcoming halftime performance also arrives during a landmark period in his career. Throughout 2026, JAY-Z has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of his influential debut album, Reasonable Doubt, through a year-long initiative featuring immersive experiences and exclusive limited-edition products.
The celebration has included three sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium, alongside sold-out performances in London, Paris, and Los Angeles, highlighting the continued demand for his music across international audiences.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” JAŸ-Z said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also expressed his excitement about the announcement, highlighting JAŸ-Z’s contributions to the halftime show through his partnership with Roc Nation. According to Goodell, he had hoped the rapper would eventually perform at the event after the NFL and Roc Nation began working together to produce the show.
Apple’s vice president of Music and International Content, Oliver Schusser, also praised JAŸ-Z’s influence on global music culture, expressing enthusiasm about seeing him take the stage after years of working alongside Roc Nation to bring major artists to the Super Bowl.
Following the announcement, Apple Music Radio presenters Zane Lowe, Eddie Francis and Brooke Reese are scheduled to discuss the news on air. Fans can also visit JAY-Z’s Road to Halftime on Apple Music for exclusive content, season-long programming and experiences developed in partnership with the NFL.
The halftime show will be executive-produced by Roc Nation, which also serves as the NFL’s strategic entertainment adviser for the performance. Hamish Hamilton has been named director.
JAY-Z’s appearance will add another chapter to the Super Bowl’s growing reputation as a major platform for music and entertainment. Recent performances have delivered significant recognition, with Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show earning seven Emmy Awards, while Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX performance became the most-watched halftime show, according to the announcement.
With his 30th-anniversary celebrations continuing and the Super Bowl stage awaiting him in February, JAŸ-Z’s upcoming performance brings together his musical legacy and one of the world’s biggest live entertainment events.
