Skyy ZNO Explores Identity and Unity on ExitUs

Genre-blending singer, songwriter, and composer Skyy ZNO has officially unveiled his debut album “ExitUs,” a seven-track project that fuses Afro-Fusion with a rich palette of global influences, delivering a bold statement on identity, culture, and the shared history of the African Diaspora.

Far from being confined to a single genre, Skyy ZNO’s music draws from Dance, Urban Pop, Latin Soul, Rock, modern R&B, and Afrobeats, creating a sound that reflects both his artistic curiosity and multicultural upbringing. On “ExitUs,” those influences come together in a seamless narrative that stretches across continents, blending West African Afrobeats, American Soul, Cuban Salsa, Dominican Dembow, and Jamaican Reggae into one cohesive listening experience.

Co-produced by nine-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo and Skyy ZNO, the album unfolds across seven interconnected chapters: “JADE (ExitUs),” “A Little Love,” “Ice Cold World,” “Pressure,” “Coming Home,” “B O,” and “Ascend.” Each track contributes to a larger story of resilience, belonging, and survival, transforming the project into a musical journey rather than a conventional album.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Skyy ZNO discovered music at just seven years old when he recorded his first song for a school mathematics project. By the age of 14, he was performing with a group, spending four years developing his stage presence before embarking on a solo career at 18.

In 2024, he and his father co-founded ZNOVerse Entertainment LLC, the independent label that now drives his career in partnership with SMN Records, Lightyear Entertainment, and Virgin Music Group. Since making his debut, Skyy ZNO has steadily built an international audience, with tracks such as “Ledge” surpassing 200,000 Spotify streams, “Ándale (Butcher Mix)” exceeding 110,000 streams, and his R&B reinterpretation of “Carol of the Bells” earning more than 60,000 streams. His emotional single “Hell with it All” has also accumulated over 600,000 YouTube views, highlighting his ability to connect with listeners through both music and visuals.

Joe Nicolo has described Skyy ZNO as “the modern-day Prince,” praising his artistic versatility while drawing comparisons to the emotional intensity of Juice WRLD and The Weeknd. His creative vision also extends beyond music, taking inspiration from artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, and the cinematic storytelling found in anime.

Described by Skyy ZNO as “One world, one rhythm,” “ExitUs” serves as both a celebration of the African Diaspora and an invitation for listeners to embrace their shared humanity. More than a debut album, it is a cultural statement that bridges generations, genres, and geographical boundaries.

With “ExitUs,” Skyy ZNO introduces himself as a fearless creative voice whose music is as global as it is personal, positioning the project as his most ambitious work to date and signaling the arrival of an artist intent on shaping his own era rather than following existing trends.
