Msaki & Jesse Clegg Releases Collaborative EP ‘Entropy’

Acclaimed hit-makers Msaki and Jesse Clegg have officially unveiled their long-awaited collaborative EP, Entropy — a six-track body of work that unites global soundscapes through emotional depth, creative trust, and boundary-pushing artistry.

Crafted over three years across Cape Town, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, and New York, Entropy reflects a deeply personal journey shaped by loss, transformation, and rebirth. Teased for months, the project finally invites listeners into a carefully curated sonic world that blends varied textures and influences into one cohesive, spellbinding experience.

“To me, Entropy feels like a snapshot of our lives over the past three years of getting to know each other,” shares Jesse Clegg. “It’s about facing tragedy and loss, but also about finding connection in unexpected places.”

The EP stands as a testament to a flourishing friendship grounded in creative freedom and mutual respect. Through captivating lyricism and layered production, Msaki and Jesse build an intimate bridge with their audience — one rooted in vulnerability and shared human experience.

Alongside the audio release, the duo has expanded the Entropy universe through a visual EP rollout. Following the success of “Wayside Lover” and the unveiling of “Chapter 4,” as well as the visual for “How Dare You” (Chapter 5), the full visual EP now arrives as a cinematic companion to the project. The interconnected chapters offer fans an immersive extension of the EP’s emotional arc, deepening the narrative impact of the music.

The release follows the success of pre-release singles including “Wayside Lover” featuring Sjava, “How Dare You,” and “Untimely Disclosure.” Each charted across South African radio and television platforms while collectively amassing hundreds of thousands of streams and views.

Msaki, a multi-platinum certified and SAMA-winning composer, is internationally recognized for her genre-blending artistry that bridges Afro-folk, soul, and electronic music. She is notably credited as a writer, composer, and vocalist on Black Coffee’s Grammy Award–winning album and has collaborated globally with artists such as Louie Vega, Bonobo, and RY X. Beyond music, her multidisciplinary work has been showcased at the Venice Biennale (South African Pavilion), Nirox Sculpture Park, and the National Arts Festival. In 2022, she was named Standard Bank Young Artist of the Year for Music.

Jesse Clegg, a platinum-selling singer-songwriter with ten Top 10 radio singles and five South African Music Award nominations, continues the legacy of his late father, Johnny Clegg. Renowned for his dynamic live performances, Jesse has graced global stages including Carnegie Hall, the Isle of Wight Festival, SXSW, and Radio City Music Hall, and toured alongside Imagine Dragons, Walk The Moon, and Daughtry.

Together, Msaki and Jesse Clegg explore contrast and connection on Entropy, a cinematic and emotionally resonant joint visual EP released on February 27. The project captures the creative tension and harmony between two singular voices, marking a bold and deeply meaningful new chapter in both artists’ global journeys.
