Norwegian singer-songwriter Terje Gravdal releases his latest single, Talking Head, the first of three country/folk tracks from his forthcoming fifth EP, Beautiful Lies, set for release in 2026.
Following the success of previous singles including No Broken Adult, Apple Cider Country, Nomadic Grey Spirits, One Foot, and The Dreamer, Gravdal’s “Talking Head” delves into the human tendency to speak without truly listening or connecting. Drawing inspiration from both personal reflection and societal observation, the song critiques one-sided communication, echoing the limitations of rigid ideologies and closed-minded thinking.
“Talking Head” invites listeners to pause, observe, and sense the world beyond their inner dialogue,” says Gravdal. “By stepping back from constant self-expression and opening ourselves to life’s sights, sounds, and colors, we discover connection, understanding, and freedom.”
Blending introspective lyrics with Gravdal’s signature country/folk instrumentation, the track encourages mindfulness, authentic connection, and the liberation that comes from truly listening. Gravdal’s poetic approach transforms social critique into a universal meditation on perception, presence, and awareness.
