Twin S has been crowned the winner of the Best Drill Act category at the 2026 MOBO Awards, marking a significant milestone for the young East London rapper and the genre’s growing prominence in British music.
The announcement came during the ceremony held on Thursday, March 26, at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, where the MOBO Awards continued its three-decade tradition of celebrating Black music and culture. Twin S triumphed over a competitive field of nominees that included established drill names such as 36, Booter Bee, Chy Cartier, EsDeeKid, K-Trap, Leostaytrill, Nemzzz, Pozer, and Wohdee.
Known for his raw, authentic delivery and commanding presence in the UK drill scene, Twin S (real name associated with the ACG collective from Beckton, Newham) has rapidly risen through consistent releases and viral freestyles. Tracks like his contributions to the drill sound, including high-streaming numbers and appearances on major UK rap playlists, have solidified his reputation. He often collaborates with his twin brother, Twin H, further amplifying their impact in the East London music circuit.
The victory highlights drill music’s evolution from its underground roots to a recognised force within the UK’s Black music landscape. Since the MOBO Awards introduced the Best Drill Act category in recent years, it has reflected the genre’s cultural weight and mainstream breakthrough, alongside wins for other urban acts such as Central Cee in Best Hip-Hop Act.
The 2026 MOBO Awards also saw major wins for Olivia Dean, who led with multiple accolades, including Best Female Act, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year, alongside honours for acts like Chip (Best Grime Act), Ayra Starr (Best International Act), and Wizkid (Best African Music Act).
Twin S’s triumph underscores the vibrancy of the current UK drill wave and positions him as one to watch in the coming years. As the genre continues to shape conversations in British youth culture, this award adds further legitimacy to its artists’ contributions.
