Brooklyn-based folk-rock band The Tumblers are back with their latest single, “Starlight”, a track that pushes the boundaries of indie rock and folk with raw energy and an electrifying edge. The single is the latest preview of their debut album, Tangerine, set to release on March 28, 2025.
Known for their raucous live shows and unconventional approach, The Tumblers have built a reputation for shaking up the folk-rock scene—both in New York City and beyond. With “Starlight,” the band takes their sound to new heights, embracing a grittier, more vibrant feel.
“I think we’ve gotten grittier and more vibrant across all our songs,” says lead singer Jack Crawford-Brown. “This time, we recorded as a band, playing together, locked in. We said imperfections are fine. We want it to sound real.”
The Tumblers’ high-energy performances have earned them a dedicated following, with fans shouting back lyrics in unison as if a punk band had picked up a banjo and violin. The upcoming album Tangerine will showcase everything from haunting ballads to foot-stomping anthems, a reflection of their years of dedication and relentless passion.
“It’s the culmination of countless hours spent in cramped rehearsal spaces, ignoring eviction threats, and pouring everything we’ve got into our music,” says bassist Emerson Sieverts. “We wanted this album to represent who we are—wild, honest, and unafraid to break the mold.”
Formed in 2022, The Tumblers bring together longtime collaborators Jack Crawford-Brown and Emerson Sieverts, who began playing in bands together at age 11 in the DC area. After reconnecting in New York, they joined forces with Ian, Will, and Camellia, forging a band that blends indie, folk, and rock with raw authenticity.
With Tangerine on the way and their fearless approach to music, The Tumblers are ready to make their mark on the folk-rock scene.
