The Savage Hearts Unleash Electrifying Double Pack Single “Gang War/Speed Kills”

Emerging from an undisclosed location in the North x Northwest of Ireland, a group of devoted musicians, led by Evan Walsh (former drummer with The Strypes), have joined forces under the collective name of The Savage Hearts. Their mission? To pay homage and celebrate the life and works of the highly mysterious and underappreciated Cavan rock ‘n’ roll icon, Eddie Cruizer. With influences ranging from garage rock and psychedelia to rhythm & blues and lo-fi-speed-freak-fuzz-mania, The Savage Hearts have created a body of wildly unhinged music that reflects Eddie Cruizer’s extensive knowledge and love for these genres.

Now, the questionable actions of these individuals have been captured on wax in the form of the band’s debut double pack single on Blowtorch Records. The release features the thuggish bruiser boogie of “Gang War,” co-authored with Ste Kelly of Dublin’s indie powerhouse Raglans, and the mile-a-minute deathtrap ditty, “Speed Kills.” These two garage rockin’ psych trippin’ stomps are guaranteed to thrill and leave listeners with countless questions about the enigmatic men behind The Savage Hearts, their punk-soul-sister Red Bexter, and the legend of Eddie Cruizer. Who is he? Where does he come from? And why does he continue to captivate?

Since their formation in 2022, The Savage Hearts have made waves on the Irish music scene, gracing stages at renowned festivals including Electric Picnic, Sea Sessions, and Kaleidoscope. They have also performed as special guests of The Boomtown Rats, with Evan Walsh even joining the Rats onstage for a memorable jam session. “Gang War” marks the band’s first single, released in collaboration with Blowtorch Records, an Irish indie record label based in Galway known for their work with artists like Adore, Turnstiles, Search Results, TV People, and The Swedish Railway Orchestra.

“Gang War” delves into the raw intensity of the battle, while “Speed Kills” questions the focus of our spectacle, exploring rebellion and the reseeding of ancient grind. The Savage Hearts’ electrifying sound and thought-provoking lyrics create an immersive experience that will leave audiences craving more.
