The Moss Share New Single “Your Way” Ahead of Upcoming Album Big Blue Moon

Alt/indie rock outfit The Moss have returned with their latest single, “Your Way,” offering a fresh preview of their forthcoming full-length album Big Blue Moon, set for release on April 24. The track continues to build momentum for the band, who have already amassed over 75 million streams and earned recognition as a rising act to watch.

Driven by infectious melodies and a laid-back yet introspective tone, “Your Way” explores the pressure of external expectations and the importance of personal authenticity. Frontman Tyke James describes the song as a reflection on individuality, emphasizing that life advice is often subjective and shouldn’t define one’s path. The message is delivered through the band’s signature blend of breezy instrumentation and thoughtful lyricism.

The release follows a steady rise for The Moss, whose earlier Insomnia EP helped propel them into wider recognition. The project’s title track gained significant traction, landing on Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart and receiving airplay support from SiriusXM Alt Nation. The band has also drawn praise from Alternative Press, which previously named them a “Rising Artist To Watch.”

Known for their genre-blending sound, The Moss fuse elements of surf rock, indie pop, reggae rhythms, and ‘90s emo influences. Their style has drawn comparisons to iconic acts such as The Beatles, U2, The Replacements, and Vampire Weekend, while maintaining a distinct identity shaped by nature and travel.

The band’s origins trace back to Oahu, where Tyke James began writing and performing as a teenager. His nomadic lifestyle—spanning time in Santa Cruz, Montana, and Salt Lake City—continues to inform the band’s creative direction, with the natural environment playing a central role in their songwriting process.

The Moss have built a strong live reputation, performing at festivals including BottleRock Napa Valley, Levitate Music Festival, Ohana Festival, and The Festival at Sandpoint, as well as sharing stages with artists like Briston Maroney. They are also slated to appear at Kilby Block Party alongside major acts including Lorde, The xx, and Modest Mouse.

With a packed 2026 touring schedule on the horizon, The Moss are set to bring their dynamic live energy to fans across the country. As anticipation builds for Big Blue Moon, “Your Way” signals another confident step forward for a band continuing to carve out its place in the modern indie rock scene.
