Following a busy 2024, championing the likes of Callum Beattie, Rhianne Downey, Kyle Falconer and BEMZ, Riverside Music TV returns to champion their latest band in session, the three-piece alt-pop outfit Pistol Daisys.
Welcoming the Glasgow-based alt-pop outfit, Pistol Daisys, to their esteemed live session series, the group perform two tracks for RMTV whilst showcasing their defiant approach to songwriting. Influenced by the likes of Stevie Nicks, the trio dive into their colourful creative process and the history of the band so far as they sit down for an exclusive interview, and hint at exciting forthcoming plans.
Debuting in 2023, Pistol Daisys have emerged as one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Scotland’s underground scene. A string of emphatic releases have seen them develop their sound, incorporating groove-laden backbeats alongside sticky melodies and story-telling lyricism, whilst adding a drummer to their creative ranks.
“When it was just the two of us, our songs were more singer-songwriter-like – akin to a sort of Americana blended with folk-rock. Once the three of us started getting together and making music, we just found this raspy pop edge, much like a Blondie-enthused Dolly Parton that gave us this unique sound and approach.”
Sharing stages with the likes of fellow Scot Callum Beatie, and making festival appearances in front of 15k people, the group have gained a reputation for their energetic, dynamic live show. Looking forward to 2025, the group tease new music and forthcoming dates with legendary outfit Big Country.
