NSG and Lyvia Unite for New Anthem “Venus”

British afroswing collective NSG have returned with their first single of the year, Venus, featuring rising UK star Lyvia. A standout from their highly anticipated mixtape The Big 6 (dropping February 28th), Venus captures NSG’s signature fusion of Hip-Hop, Bashment, and Afrobeats, solidifying their status as one of the most influential collectives in the UK music scene.

Produced by the renowned 4Play (the mastermind behind NSG’s hit OT Bop), Venus delivers a vibrant, rhythmic soundscape, blending infectious melodies with hard-hitting basslines. While NSG brings their trademark energy and lyrical finesse, Lyvia’s silky-smooth vocals on the chorus add a refreshing and dynamic contrast. Her delicate yet catchy hook infuses the track with a feminine touch, marking her as an emerging talent to watch.

Beyond Venus, NSG’s upcoming mixtape The Big 6 is already generating serious buzz, boasting an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Casisdead, Psycho YP, Jay Bahd, Blanco, Tay C, Murda, Medikal, Jeriq, and Phyno. With a 14-track project packed with heavyweight features, NSG continues to expand its sonic universe, pushing the boundaries of UK Afroswing and global Afro-influenced music.

NSG has evolved from the “No Sleep Gang” to “Non-Stop Grinding” and now “Never Stop Growing,” reflecting their unwavering commitment to self-improvement and perseverance. The six-member collective—Kruddz, Mxjib, Mojo, OGD, Dope, and Papii Abz—has redefined the UK’s music landscape, pioneering a sound that merges Afro-bashment rhythms with an undeniable global appeal.

Their impact goes beyond music. In 2021, NSG launched Area Bar in Accra, Ghana, a nightlife hotspot that has attracted industry heavyweights like Headie One and Stormzy. Their presence on the scene is more than just musical; it’s a cultural movement, bridging African and British influences while elevating the Afrobeats genre worldwide.

Having collaborated with some of the biggest names in music—Aitch, Unknown T, Chip, Giggs, Backroad Gee, Seyi Vibez, Rimzee, Odomodublvck, and Potter Payper—NSG has earned their place as UK chart dominators. Their music has been championed by BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, MTV Base, Complex, NME, The Face, and The Fader, cementing their reputation as global trendsetters in Afro-influenced music.

With Venus, NSG is setting the stage for their biggest year yet. Beyond The Big 6, they are making history as the first-ever Afrobeats crew to compete in the legendary Red Bull Culture Clash, representing alongside Teezee, Spinall, and Pa Salieu on the Native Sound System team.

For a group that has dominated the UK scene since their 2018 breakthrough hit Options (featuring Tion Wayne), NSG’s journey is far from over. They’ve delivered chart-topping projects like Roots and Area Boyz, collaborated with legends, and consistently pushed their sound forward.

With Venus, NSG proves once again that they are unstoppable innovators, and The Big 6 is shaping up to be a game-changing project. Fans should buckle up—2024 is NSG’s year to shine.
