Monterey J Releases Debut Album “The Root”

Monterey J has released his debut album, “The Root,” an eclectic journey through R&B, Funk, Soul, and Jazz that explores themes of self-acceptance and identity. The album, distributed independently under Minds Aye Music and self-produced by Monterey J, features a stellar cast of guest musicians, including Emanuele Nazzaro on bass, Dan McConkey on tenor saxophone, and Greg Owens on drums, adding depth and dimension to Monterey J’s captivating vocals and songwriting.

“The Root” is the culmination of a musical odyssey, with 9 tracks that showcase Monterey J’s unique artistic vision. The album was preceded by the release of four successful singles, each achieving a 53% save rate and propelling the leading single, “Before The House Burns Down,” to over 13,000 streams.
