Afro-R&B trailblazer, singer, and producer Maleek Berry is excited to announce the release of his latest single, “Lately,” from his highly anticipated debut album, “If Only Love Was Enough,” set to drop on 27th September. This powerful collaboration features Nigerian Afro-fusion sensation Ruger, blending their signature vocals with Maleek’s top-tier production to make a significant mark on the global Afrobeats scene.

“Lately” follows the release of “Secrets,” the first single from Maleek’s forthcoming album, and continues to build anticipation as he immerses himself in album mode. Recently, Maleek showcased his dynamic performances at AfroCarnival in New York alongside DJ Tunez, further solidifying his presence in the music landscape.

Born and raised in Clapham, South London, Maleek Berry has cultivated a dedicated fan base that has supported his journey from a groundbreaking producer to an international artist. Influenced by the area’s rich musical heritage and inspired by the iconic So Solid Crew, Maleek’s passion for music ignited during his secondary school years when he began creating beats for a local Grime group. In 2011, he returned to Lagos to reconnect with his roots, producing for renowned artists such as Davido and Wizkid and playing a pivotal role in bringing Afrobeats to a global audience.

Ruger, born Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has quickly emerged as a dynamic force in the African music scene since his debut in 2021. With nominations for prestigious awards and a growing list of accolades, including the AFRIMMA trophy for ‘Best Male West Africa’, Ruger continues to showcase his captivating music to audiences worldwide.
