French-British artist Henry Chebaane, known as LX8, bridges multimedia storytelling and pulsating electronic beats with his new single “Ghosts of Sound (Afro House Club Mix)” – a hypnotic melodic techno cut that serves as both dancefloor catalyst and narrative prelude to his forthcoming Panharmonion Chronicles double LP. The track, brimming with hypnotic rhythms and euphoric synth layers, mirrors the revolutionary spirit of its source material: Chebaane’s acclaimed graphic novel series, where music becomes a weapon against oppression.
Due for release in Winter 2025, Ghosts of Sound (Vol. 2 of The Panharmonion Chronicles) follows protagonist Alex Campbell—a time-traveling DJ and composer—as she weaponizes electronic music in 19th-century London, using its power to galvanize a marginalized community against imperialist forces. The Afro House remix amplifies this narrative, blending percussive drive with cinematic tension, as if the very essence of resistance has been distilled into a club-ready groove.
Chebaane, an award-winning multimedia creator, channels influences from four decades of house and trance into what he calls a “sonic quest into human consciousness.” Much like John Carpenter (a key inspiration), he crafts immersive worlds where music, visuals, and storytelling collide—directing his own videos and designing the dystopian landscapes that backdrop LX8’s releases.
The upcoming double album promises a full immersion into The Panharmonion universe, fusing melodic techno with dark, cinematic drama and experimental synthscapes. For now, “Ghosts of Sound” offers a thrilling taste: a track that doesn’t just move bodies but sparks imagination, proving dance music can be both a rebellion and a revelation.
With ‘Ghosts of Sound (Afro House Club Mix),’ LX8 turns the dancefloor into a battleground—fusing pulsating techno with cinematic storytelling, it’s a bold, hypnotic glimpse into a world where music becomes a weapon for revolution
