Josh Rifkin Unveils New Album ‘Lancaster Road’

Listening to Josh Rifkin’s, Lancaster Road, is like stepping into a time machine—one that traverses decades of personal memories and universal themes with grace and sophistication. Blending singer-songwriter sensibilities with soft rock and blue-eyed soul, Rifkin has created a body of work that feels both deeply personal and wonderfully accessible.

The title track, “Lancaster Road,” sets the tone with its poignant reflection on family and loss. Inspired by a drive with Rifkin’s late father, the song manages to be both heartbreaking and uplifting. From there, the album flows seamlessly into tracks like “Got It Wrong” and “Wandering,” which explore themes of love and longing. Rifkin’s knack for storytelling is unmatched, and his lyrics are as evocative as they are relatable.

Rifkin’s decision to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer Leonardo Marques in Brazil adds a unique texture to the album. The album’s production strikes a perfect balance between organic warmth and studio polish, thanks in part to Rifkin’s collaboration with Keith Armstrong.

Jennifer Souza, Bart Davenport, Miranda Lee Richards, Niki J Crawford, Annie Little, and Adam Elk (of the Mommyheads) are just a few of the well-known guest vocalists on Lancaster Road, a tribute to teamwork. Their talents give the album’s already well-polished sound more depth and vitality.

What makes, Lancaster Road, truly special, though, is its emotional resonance. Rifkin’s ability to capture fleeting moments and turn them into something timeless is a testament to his artistry. This is an album that doesn’t just tell stories; it invites listeners to find their own within its melodies.

Lancaster Road, isn’t just music—it’s a heartfelt journey that stays with you long after the last note fades.
