Indie pop/alternative artist Jon Lindsay returns with his deeply moving new single, “Big Stage,” available now on all streaming platforms via Daffin Records. The track serves as the lead single and title track from Lindsay’s forthcoming album, set for release on May 16, 2025.
“Big Stage” is a melodically rich, emotionally raw ballad that captures the weight of loneliness, loss, and reflection. With his signature poignant lyricism and evocative vocal style, Lindsay weaves a sonic tapestry that blends vintage textures reminiscent of Nilsson and Dennis Wilson with modern influences that feel undeniably current. “Big Stage is definitely one of the more raw, weighted ballads I’ve ever done,” Lindsay shares. “There’s a lot of honest anguish and sheer devastation front and center in this tune—nowhere to hide. I wrote it in the middle of a personal storm, almost as an ‘art prayer.’ I thought, if I could make something this wounded sound as beautiful as possible, maybe it could release me. Now, I’m in the happiest place of my life, and I wanted that contrast to shine through—I survived, and then some.”
Accompanying the release is a heartwarming music video, shot in the stunning Georgia low country. Featuring cameos from Lindsay’s wife and child, the visual defies expectations. Initially appearing as a tale of solitude and heartbreak, it unexpectedly shifts into a more nuanced and playful story—a glimpse into the life of a happy, content father who simply isn’t his best when left to his own devices for a few days.
