Emerging Americana-Rock Talent Sam Sample Shares Rework of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s Fan-Favourite Track “7”

Emerging Americana-rock talent Sam Sample offers a fresh perspective on a modern indie classic with her latest release, a heartfelt reworking of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s fan-favourite track ‘7’. Joined by collaborator Cam Harper, Sample delivers a version that feels simultaneously nostalgic and refreshingly original, highlighting the versatility of her evolving sound.

Built around warm acoustic arrangements and rich vocal interplay, the track introduces a country-leaning atmosphere that complements the emotional weight of the original composition. Sample and Harper’s harmonies serve as the centrepiece, gradually elevating the song into a stirring finale that balances intimacy with cinematic scope.

The release follows a period of significant growth for Sample. The independent artist has cultivated a dedicated following through relentless commitment to her craft, developing what she describes as an “AmeriRock” sound that combines Americana storytelling, folk influences, and indie-rock energy. Her debut album, I’m Moving to the Moon, has already surpassed 2.5 million streams while helping fuel sold-out performances across the United States.

‘7’ also carries a personal story behind its creation. After meeting Harper at a songwriting expo in October 2025, the pair quickly connected through their shared admiration for Catfish and the Bottlemen. An initial TikTok performance generated enthusiastic reactions from fans, inspiring them to bring the concept into the studio and explore its full potential.

With production from Garrett Hall, the finished recording captures the natural chemistry between all involved. More than a cover, ‘7’ serves as a thoughtful reinterpretation that bridges indie rock and contemporary Americana, while offering another promising glimpse into the creative direction of Sam Sample’s anticipated sophomore album.
