Singer-songwriter Claire Hawkins returns with her latest EP Between Two Bodies, a four-track collection that captures the emotional journey of travel, self-discovery, and finding a sense of belonging. Blending Irish folk influences with contemporary soft-rock textures, the project reflects on the connections between where we come from, where we go, and the memories that continue to shape us.
Written during Hawkins’ artist residency at the Odyssée Artist-in-Residence Program in Canet-en-Roussillon, France, Between Two Bodies documents a period of reflection and transition. Away from home and immersed in a new environment, Hawkins channels the experience of being both grounded in a new adventure and emotionally connected to the places and people she left behind.
Produced by Hana Elion of Overcoats, the EP pairs delicate acoustic arrangements, atmospheric melodies, and Hawkins’ expressive vocals to create a soundscape filled with longing, warmth, and quiet introspection. Across the project, she explores themes of distance, childhood memories, personal growth, and the search for meaning through change.
“These songs came out of a time of isolation,” Hawkins shares. “My artist residency gave me the opportunity to stop and reflect on the constant movement I had experienced in the years of travel prior. I found myself writing about my childhood and my community back home, and the bigger questions behind the choices I was making. In many ways, these songs represent a pivot. They brought me home.”
The EP follows the release of three singles and marks another step in Hawkins’ evolving artistic journey. Known for her intimate songwriting and storytelling approach, she has built a connection with audiences through both her music and her travel-focused online content, where she documents life as an independent artist on the road. Her YouTube channel has surpassed 3 million views and attracted more than 30,000 subscribers worldwide.
When she is not traveling, Hawkins divides her time between Dublin, Ireland, and New York City, performing at renowned venues including Mercury Lounge, Hotel Café, and Whelan’s. A graduate of NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, she has released multiple EPs and singles while continuing to use music as a way to create community and connection.
With Between Two Bodies, Claire Hawkins delivers a deeply personal body of work that embraces change, nostalgia, and the emotional spaces that exist between leaving home and finding your way back.
