Rising country and soul artist Benny G has released his new single, ‘In The Now’, following growing demand from fans as he continues his sold-out headline tour. The release marks a special milestone for the Nashville-based performer, bringing his songwriting partnership with his 16-year-old sister, Ella, to an official release for the first time.
Built around the emotional uncertainty of a young relationship, ‘In The Now’ explores the desire for reassurance, affection and a clear answer from someone you care about. The song captures the vulnerability of wanting to feel wanted, with Benny drawing on the intensity of romantic feelings that can make uncertainty difficult to ignore.
“‘In The Now’ portrays a romantic desperation and the dramatic need for an answer in a young relationship. We all crave the feeling of being wanted and loved and my sister, Ella, and I were trying to capture that emotion in this song,” Benny explained.
Although the pair have written songs together for years, ‘In The Now’ is their first official release as co-writers and Ella’s first-ever songwriter credit. The track grew out of a creative moment at Benny’s childhood piano, where a melody caught his sister’s attention and inspired them to develop the idea together.
Benny said their songwriting sessions have traditionally been a personal creative outlet rather than something intended for public release. That changed when Ella heard him experimenting with the melody and encouraged him to turn it into a song.
“Ella is so talented. We grew up writing songs together, but I’ve never released anything we wrote because it felt like something that was just for us,” he shared.
He added that their writing process is driven by creativity rather than a particular goal or commercial expectation. The decision to release ‘In The Now’ therefore represents a meaningful step for both siblings, allowing a collaboration that began at home to reach a wider audience.
“It’s been crazy to see people connecting to it before it’s even released so I’m excited for this one to come out,” Benny said.
The release arrives during a busy period for the young artist, who has been gaining attention while supporting Ty Myers on tour throughout the summer. Alongside those performances, Benny is headlining his own WHEN YOU KNOW YOU KNOW TOUR, which has sold out venues in cities including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago and Nashville.
