GRAMMY-nominated, multiplatinum artist Alex Warren has unveiled his latest single, “Rescuer,” offering an intimate preview of his forthcoming sophomore album, WILDCHILD, due August 28 via Atlantic Records.
Released alongside an official music video directed by Andrew Donoho, “Rescuer” is a deeply personal tribute to Warren’s wife, Kouvr Annon, whom he credits with helping him through one of the lowest periods of his life.
“When I was at my absolute lowest, my now-wife Kouvr saved me. Nothing I have or have done is possible without her. This song is written to her as a way of expressing that,” Warren shares.
The new release arrives as Warren continues his sold-out Finding Family On The Road Tour, bringing his music to arenas around the world. The accompanying video premiered during a special iHeart x TikTok livestream single release event in Los Angeles, further building anticipation for the album.
“Rescuer” highlights the emotional songwriting and soulful vocal delivery that have become central to Warren’s artistry. The song also offers an early glimpse into the deeply personal themes that shape WILDCHILD, a project that explores loss, grief, healing, love, and the process of finding a new sense of self.
For Warren, the album represents a significant emotional step forward from his debut project, You’ll Be Alright, Kid. Named after the childhood nickname given to him by his late father, WILDCHILD reflects Warren’s journey through both painful and transformative chapters of his life.
“Growing up, my dad used to call me Wildchild so it’s always had a special meaning, and I even have it tattooed on me,” Warren explains. “Creating this album was really healing, therapeutic and a way for me to continue finding out more about myself.”
He adds that the album captures a different stage of his life and emotional growth. While his debut reflected someone who was broken, WILDCHILD represents someone actively working through the process of healing.
“Rescuer” follows Warren’s recent singles “Passenger,” “Fine Place to Die,” and “Fever Dream,” and continues the momentum generated by his breakthrough debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid.
Warren’s rise has been marked by extraordinary global success. His 7x-Platinum hit “Ordinary” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S. chart for 10 weeks, while also spending 13 weeks at No. 1 on the UK Songs Chart. The song finished 2025 as the top-selling song of the year and spent a record-breaking 16 weeks at No. 1 on US Pop Radio.
His debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 and produced further major hits including “Eternity,” “Bloodline” featuring Jelly Roll, “On My Mind” featuring ROSÉ, and “Burning Down” with Joe Jonas. The project has helped Warren accumulate billions of streams worldwide while earning him multiple major awards and nominations.
From performances at the American Music Awards, MTV VMAs, GRAMMY Awards and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to sold-out arena tours and appearances alongside artists including Ed Sheeran and Jelly Roll, Warren has rapidly established himself as one of pop music’s most compelling new voices.
With “Rescuer,” Warren turns the spotlight inward, transforming one of the most important relationships in his life into an emotional song about gratitude, love and being saved when he needed it most.
As anticipation builds for WILDCHILD, “Rescuer” signals a more vulnerable chapter from an artist whose story continues to evolve in real time.
