Following the critical acclaim of their 2024 debut album Serenades & Damnation, Dead Chic return with an expansive Deluxe Edition, released on 27th February. The record further cements the band’s reputation for crafting music that is dense, visceral, and instantly distinctive — a sound defined by cinematic crescendos, vast sonic landscapes, sultry tension, grit, and refined elegance. Unmistakably dark and undeniably chic.
The Serenades & Damnation (Deluxe Edition) extends the immersive journey of the original album, offering a compelling second chapter to an already powerful debut. The expanded edition unveils three previously unreleased tracks recorded during the original sessions at Black Box Studio: “Fire,” “The Bells and the Fists,” and “It Takes a Long Road.” Some of these songs were refined on stage over time, while others surfaced more recently, yet together they reveal a rawer, denser edge of the band’s sonic palette — always infused with the cinematic scope that defines Dead Chic’s identity.
In addition to the new material, the Deluxe Edition features three reimagined versions drawn from a stripped-back, near-acoustic live session: “Pain Love Joy,” “Hedonista,” and “Paris.” Performed in an intimate setting with subdued lighting and a live audience, these recordings showcase a more minimalist and introspective side of the band. The session captures the immediacy of live performance — the delicate tension between restraint and abandon — and the adrenaline of stepping on stage without a safety net.
To support the release, Dead Chic have announced a UK tour for June, with dates across London, Bristol, Nottingham, Chester, Harrogate, Leeds, and Newcastle. The run of shows promises to translate the album’s cinematic intensity into a powerful live experience.
With Serenades & Damnation – Deluxe Edition, Dead Chic do more than expand their debut — they deepen its narrative. The release explores the outer edges of their sound while reaffirming a coherent and uncompromising artistic vision: free, embodied, and fully realised.
