Manchester-based electronic art rock duo Shape of Water returns with a thunderous new single, “The Silence of the Lambs”, marking their boldest and most intense release to date. Since their formation in 2018, Rox Capriotti and Luca De Falco have established Shape of Water as a band unbound by conventions. Known for their cinematic soundscapes and thought-provoking themes, their music explores human emotion, societal issues, and existential dilemmas. Following their critically acclaimed debut album, Great Illusions (2020), and the introspective 2022 album Amor Fati, the band now steps into heavier, more aggressive territory with “The Silence of the Lambs”.
“The Silence of the Lambs” is an anthemic blend of haunting melodies, crushing guitar riffs, and pulsating rhythms, setting the stage for the band’s forthcoming third album in 2025. Recorded with live drums at NoiseBoy Studios in Manchester and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering, the song’s dark intensity showcases the band’s evolution. With nods to Muse, Depeche Mode, and industrial metal, it balances brutal sonic aggression with ethereal, immersive atmospheres.
Shape of Water’s boundary-pushing sound has earned them praise from Classic Rock Magazine, Rolling Stone.de, and BBC Introducing, as well as comparisons to some of rock’s most innovative acts.
