Swedish electropop artist, songwriter, and producer Paul Rein returns with his latest festive release, Oh Holy Night, bringing a modern, energetic twist to the classic Christmas carol.
Known for his Italo Disco hits of the mid-’80s, including “Lady-O,” “Hold Back Your Love,” and “Stop (Give It Up),” Rein now channels his signature high-energy sound into the holiday spirit. “Oh Holy Night” infuses the traditional melody with electropop production, creating a track that’s both nostalgic and contemporary — perfect for fans of danceable holiday music.
After stepping out of the limelight in the ’90s to focus on songwriting and production, Rein penned hits for global stars such as Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Victoria Beckham, No Angels, and Nikki Webster. His co-written track, “Come On Over (All I Want Is You)” for Christina Aguilera, reached Billboard US #1 in just four weeks and earned the prestigious ASCAP Pop Music Award in 2002, along with a Latin Grammy Award the year prior. Rein also collaborated with disco icon Donna Summer in 2001.
Since returning to performing in 2016 after a 25-year hiatus, Rein has released new music under his own name and continues to captivate audiences worldwide, particularly in Mexico, where his ’80s hits remain dance floor favorites. “Oh Holy Night” adds to his legacy, blending his Hi-NRG roots with festive cheer.
