Southeast country risers Luke Brown & The Jubilee return with their latest single, Someone New, a modern country release steeped in classic storytelling and barroom honesty.
Released independently, “Someone New” pairs a timeless honky-tonk spirit with a fresh melodic punch, continuing the band’s steady climb within the regional country scene. Written by frontman Luke Brown, with instrumental contributions from the full band, the track nods to the golden era of 1980s country — echoing the narrative depth of icons like Keith Whitley and Ronnie Milsap.
Set against the backdrop of a late-night honky-tonk encounter, the song captures the spark of a fleeting connection while acknowledging it may not last beyond the moment. Clever wordplay — including the standout hook, “if you got time that needs wasting” — gives the track a playful charm, embodying an old-school approach to shaking off heartbreak.
“This song has what is probably my favorite chorus we have put out so far,” says Brown. “I’ve always been a big fan of country songs that tell a story, and I think this one tells an all-too-relatable one.”
Produced by Austin Moorehead and recorded by the band in Atlanta, the single layers warm traditional textures over a driving, radio-ready groove. Moorehead’s pedal steel work adds an unmistakable classic country feel, grounding the song’s barroom atmosphere while keeping it firmly planted in the modern country lane.
The momentum behind Luke Brown & The Jubilee continues to build. With more than 15,000 monthly listeners, strong regional radio support — including spins from 94.9 The Bull — and growing streaming numbers (their previous single Problem for Tomorrow has surpassed 80,000 streams), the band is carving out a loyal and expanding fanbase.
Renowned for their energetic live shows, they have shared stages with artists such as William Beckmann, Chayce Beckham, Ricky Chilton, and Craig Campbell. Next up, the band is set to open for Lakeview on March 5 at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta.
“It’s a great time to be a fan of LBJ, in my biased opinion,” Brown adds. “We are continuing to build a catalog of music and we are really proud of our live show. We have some awesome announcements coming soon for 2026.”
