East London’s own multi-hyphenate artist and rapper Kojey Radical returns with his brand-new single “Expensive” featuring Montreal collective Planet Giza, produced by the acclaimed Swindle. Built on a futuristic, stripped-back beat, “Expensive” fuses infectious rhythm with a hook that lingers long after the first listen. The track strikes a rare balance of groove and gravity, carrying weighty reflections through lines such as “Stop holding on to the past” and “No price on life and time”, while remaining undeniably danceable.
To mark the release, Kojey is keeping true to his ethos of taking the conversation offline. The full tracklist for his upcoming album Don’t Look Down will be revealed at 5pm this Friday in Shoreditch on a striking mural painted by Marc at MurWalls. (Mural location available on request.)
Set for release on 19th September 2025, the 16-track album Don’t Look Down is Kojey Radical’s most ambitious and introspective body of work yet. Musically rich and emotionally charged, it reflects on the shifting tides, highs, and lows of his journey since first stepping into the public eye. The album traverses themes of loss and renewal, hedonism and celebrity, fatherhood and friendship — all delivered against a backdrop brimming with soul and vivid instrumentation. Sonically, Kojey stretches further than ever, drawing from influences as wide-ranging as golden age Hip Hop, disco, grime, indie, jazz, and ska. The result is his most experimental and eclectic project to date, a powerful timestamp capturing the experiences, emotions, and revelations that often arrive as one approaches their 30s.
Beyond the music, Kojey has been curating in-person parties across the UK — intimate gatherings designed to take the experience offline and nurture genuine community. He also recently hosted two special screenings of the short film accompanying the album. Directed by Relta, the film weaves together three music videos into a single cinematic narrative, stemming from Kojey’s desire to reintroduce care and artistry into the music video format while drawing inspiration from the powerful visuals that shaped him.
