A defining moment in his evolution, ‘KT.FM’ marks Kadeem stepping out of his comfort zone and into a powerful new era. The project was born out of a transformative trip to the U.S., where Kadeem performed at SXSW’s BBC Introducing showcase, sharing stages with some of the UK’s brightest stars. A month immersed in new environments and collaborations stateside infused the project with fresh creative energy, blending nostalgic R&B with a renewed, contemporary edge. Known for his distinctive sound and fusion of genres, Kadeem continues to expand his palette while remaining true to what first drew fans in. Raised in Battersea, he finds inspiration close to home, from pioneering South London legends like So Solid Crew to global icons like Victoria Monét, Lucky Daye, Daniel Caesar, and D’Angelo. Peers like Ego Ella May and Mnelia also influence his ever-evolving artistry.

Following his critically acclaimed 2022 mixtape ‘As Time Goes By’, a heartfelt lockdown creation featuring Shae Universe, Geovarn, and the legendary Omar, Kadeem spent 2023 releasing a string of captivating singles, including ‘City’ and ‘Lover and Friend’. His songwriting credentials were further solidified through co-writing ‘Nice Girls’ for Jaz Karis and Mahalia during his SXSW trip, a moment that exemplified his growing influence within the vibrant UK R&B community. Despite his rising profile, Kadeem remains grounded and driven. Balancing life as a Royal Mail postman by day and a rising star by night, he funds his music independently, ensuring full creative control over his work. His relentless work ethic and authenticity have earned him praise from DJ Ace, Rebecca Judd, Wonderland, Complex, Clash, and Notion, among others.

Earlier this week, he hosted an intimate listening party for ‘KT.FM’, where he shared stories from his U.S. journey and performed stripped-back acoustic versions of tracks from the EP. His live shows are nothing short of magnetic, with recent appearances at The Jazz Café, The Great Escape, 696 Festival, Lafayette, Gotobeat Festival, and Guap Magazine’s R&B showcase. ‘KT.FM’ is more than a project; it’s a statement. Filled with depth and artistry, Kadeem Tyrell continues to prove why he’s one of the UK’s most compelling artists. Kadeem channels love, lust, purpose, and personal growth into a sound that feels as comforting as it is transformative.
