Hinds Returns With New Single “Bats” Following Viva Hinds Album

Fresh off the release of their latest album, Viva Hinds, Spanish rock duo Hinds returns with an electrifying new single titled “Bats.” The track, which serves as a bonus addition to the album, offers listeners another bilingual banger, blending English and Spanish lyrics to create an irresistible, high-energy experience.

Hinds’ Viva Hinds album, which dropped last month, featured party anthems like “Boom Boom Back” with Beck and dreamy collaborations such as “Stranger” with Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. With “Bats,” the duo continues to captivate with their signature sound, blending infectious rhythms, danceable beats, and playful lyrics.

The band shared their inspiration behind “Bats,” revealing, “We wrote ‘Bats’ the week after watching Another Round (Druk) in the movies. We couldn’t stop thinking about it, especially the last scene where Mads Mikkelsen starts dancing frenetically until he jumps fully dressed into the water. ‘Bats’ is about accepting that everything is blurry and confusing—in Spanish and in English. It’s a dance with your darkest thoughts. A dance with your ugliest demons.”

Like much of Viva Hinds, “Bats” brings an exuberant, carefree vibe, perfectly encapsulating the band’s spirit. The lyrics, “And like a bat that has been trapped inside / I wanna fly, I wanna bite tonight,” reinforce the euphoric feeling of liberation and fun, making the song an unadulterated good time.
