“How You Broke Me” is the Denver-based producer’s latest release, and it dives headfirst into emotional wreckage. Rooted in the aftermath of a toxic breakup, this project is not subtle about where it comes from. It is raw, personal, and built from a place of real hurt.
Created entirely in his home studio, this is a self-written and self-produced Project. The process itself was deeply emotional. DJ Entel has described moments of tears while building the music, especially during the piano-driven sections. That vulnerability is not hidden. It is front and center.
The standout element here is the piano breakdown. It cuts through the trance framework with a sense of fragility before swelling back into layered synths and driving rhythms. There is a cinematic quality to it, a feeling of movement through pain rather than staying stuck in it.
DJ Entel’s journey into music stretches back to 2009 when he began DJing, later stepping into production in 2011. In 2025, he committed more seriously to the craft under the name DJ Entel, a clever nod to his love of technology, with the E representing EDM. His background includes playing trumpet and percussion, and that musical foundation shows in the way he structures his tracks with intention.
This is not music made for algorithms. It is music made because it had to be made. He channels his personal pain into something expansive, hoping listeners who have faced similar emotional turmoil will find connection in the sound.
