Colin Tyler unveils dynamic new indie power-pop belter ‘The Best of Me’

If you thought Colin Tyler was done impressing us after ‘Four Wheel Drive’, think again — the London-based indie powerhouse is already back with another belter, and this one might just worm its way into your head for the rest of the week. ‘The Best of Me’ is bright, punchy, and packed with that indie power-pop charm he’s quickly becoming known for.

Right from the jump, the track bursts with indie-pop melodies dipped in colourful alternative edge, the kind that makes you nod along without realising it. There’s a funk-flavoured bassline bouncing underneath, a rhythm section that hits with purpose, and a chorus that’s tailor-made for shouting along in a sweaty gig room. You can hear the fingerprints of XTC and The Kinks in the DNA of the song, but Tyler steers the sound confidently into his own lane.

What really pulls you in, though, is the heart behind it. Tyler wrote this one while wrestling with big questions — letting someone in, revealing your flaws, and figuring out what parts of yourself survive when love falls apart. It’s introspective without being heavy, vulnerable without losing its swagger. He calls it an exploration of honesty and hope, and that emotional spark shines through the whole track.

Colin Tyler has already built a reputation for vibrant lyricism, sticky hooks, and timeless melodies, honed from his years fronting London rock outfit Silent Frenzy. Now stepping firmly into his solo chapter, he’s proving he’s got both the craft and the charisma to stand out on his own — and ‘The Best of Me’ only reinforces that.
