A biographical tale inspired by Asta’s niece, Emma, the song tells the story of a three-year-old girl who, after witnessing images of suffering on TV, packed a rucksack with food and water in a heartfelt attempt to embark on a mission to help starving children. Now an adult, Emma has given her blessing for this touching story to be shared, allowing Asta to finally bring this song to life.
“I wrote this song in two minutes, but capturing the emotion in its production took years,” Asta shares. “It’s a prayer—it needed to express both the pain and the purity of a child’s heart while inspiring and moving the listener.”
Co-produced by Jagannatha Suta & Asta, with an orchestral arrangement by John Metcalfe (Coldplay, U2, Blur, Peter Gabriel) and performances from Isobel Griffith (Sting, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Sam Smith, Harry Styles) on strings and Gintaras Pamakstys on piano, “Emma” is a masterfully crafted composition.
