All The Villains are back — and they’re not tiptoeing in. Their new single “Get Me To The Sea” crashes with a bold, groove-heavy punch, marking their first release of the year and a powerful statement of intent. For a band whose story began in the early 2000s and paused for over a decade, this feels less like a return and more like a reawakening.
From the opening moments, the track radiates urgency. There’s a modern, almost dance-pop shimmer woven into its alt-rock backbone, with synth textures swirling around driving instrumentation. The vocals carry a heartfelt intensity, cutting cleanly through the layered production. It’s dynamic, colourful, and built to move — whether that’s your feet or your state of mind.
At its core, “Get Me To The Sea” is about escape. It taps into that universal itch — the need to break free from routine, breathe deeply, and stare out at something vast and open. The horizon becomes a metaphor for clarity, for possibility, for rediscovering purpose. It’s the kind of anthem that hits hardest when you’re feeling boxed in.
Behind the scenes, the single benefits from serious studio pedigree. Produced and mixed by Abbey Road regular James Hawkins and engineered by Grammy-nominated Andrew Oedel, the sound is polished yet punchy, amplifying the band’s renewed creative fire.
The journey here has been anything but linear. After releasing their debut album Espionage in 2007 and gaining strong industry support — including US radio play and performances at CBGBs in New York alongside shows across the UK and Europe — the band stepped away as life pulled members in different directions. Fifteen years later, despite being scattered across four time zones, their bond proved stronger than ever. They regrouped at Ghost Hit Recording in Massachusetts, driven by a shared hunger to create again.
If “Get Me To The Sea” is any indication, All The Villains aren’t just revisiting old ground — they’re charting new territory with confidence.
