Congrats on your new release. First of all, for readers who may be discovering you for the first time, who is Brandon Watson?
Brandon: Hi! Thanks for having me. It’s an honor to sit down and talk through this special project. I am an independent pop-rock artist, songwriter, and producer. But really, I am a husband and a father based in Nashville TN. My music lives in that space between modern pop energy and rock attitude, but at its core it’s about mindset—discipline, ambition, and believing in the work you’re putting in. I’ve always believed music should move people, not just emotionally but mentally as well. Whether someone is chasing a dream, building something from the ground up, or just trying to push through a tough moment in their life, I want my music to feel like fuel for that journey.
Your new single, “Watch Me Work” has a very motivational and energetic vibe. What inspired you to write this anthem of determination and self-empowerment?
Brandon: “Watch Me Work” really came from the mindset of proving things through action instead of words. As an independent artist, you hear a lot of opinions about what you should or shouldn’t do. At some point you stop explaining and defending yourself and just let the results speak. The song is about putting your head down, staying disciplined, and letting the work show people who you are. My faith has played a huge role in who I am today.
The hook “Watch me work” is very repetitive and catchy. How did you decide on that phrase as the central message of the song?
Brandon: The phrase felt powerful because it’s simple and direct. It doesn’t need a long explanation. When someone says “watch me work,” it’s a statement of confidence. It’s not arrogant—it’s focused. It means you’re about to show people what you’re capable of through effort and execution.
The track carries a strong upbeat rhythm. How does the production help reinforce the message of personal growth and resilience in the song?
Brandon: The production was designed to feel like momentum. The drums hit hard, the guitars have energy, and everything pushes the song forward. That movement mirrors the message—progress, discipline, and staying in motion. I wanted listeners to feel energized, like the music itself is pushing them forward.
You write, sing, and produce your own music. How do you balance all these roles when creating a track like “Watch Me Work”?
Brandon: For me it starts with the idea and the message. Once the concept feels strong, the rest of the process becomes about building the right sonic world around it. Writing, producing, and performing my own material allows me to keep the vision consistent from start to finish. It’s definitely a lot of hats to wear, but it also gives me the freedom to shape every detail of the record.
Can you walk us through the writing process for this song? Did it come from a personal experience, or was it meant to be a more universal message for listeners?
Brandon: It started with the phrase “Watch Me Work.” Once that line landed, the rest of the song built around that mindset. There’s definitely personal experience behind it—the grind, the discipline, the late nights—but the goal was to make it universal. Whether someone is building a business, training for a sport, or chasing a creative dream, the message applies.
Your music often connects with listeners on themes like ambition, confidence, and perseverance. How important is it for you to use your music as a source of motivation for others?
Brandon: It’s extremely important to me, really it’s an honor. Music has the ability to change someone’s mindset in a matter of minutes. If one of my songs can help someone push through doubt, stay focused, or feel more confident in what they’re building, that’s powerful. I want my music to be something people turn on when they need a reminder to keep the faith and overcome.
Who are some of the artists or influences that have shaped your sound and creative approach?
Brandon: I’ve always been drawn to artists who bring energy, conviction, and strong identity to their music. The artists who influenced me most are the ones who aren’t afraid to blend genres and build something unique while still delivering powerful, memorable songs. John Mayer, OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, Charlie puth, and of course the guitar heroes of our time B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would be your dream collaboration and why?
Brandon: There are a lot of incredible artists out there, but I’m always drawn to collaborators who bring a strong vision and creative energy to the table. The right collaboration is less about the name and more about the chemistry and the ability to create something powerful together. But, I’d love to collaborate with Chris Stapleton, John Mayer, and the guys from OneRepublic!
Authenticity is something many artists talk about today. What does authenticity mean to you as a musician and storyteller?
Brandon: Authenticity means being honest in what you create. It’s not about following trends or trying to sound like someone else. It’s about making music that reflects your mindset, your experiences, and the message you want to put into the world.
Looking ahead, what’s next for you? Are fans expecting an album, tour, or more singles soon?
Brandon: Right now, the focus is continuing to release strong records and building momentum with new music. I’ve been working on several new songs, so fans can definitely expect more releases ahead. The goal is to keep growing the sound and reaching more people with the message. My management and label team and I do have a project planned to release here in the next few months! I’m really excited about that.

Brandon: Keep working. Stay disciplined. Believe in the vision you’re building even when others don’t see it yet. Success rarely happens overnight—it’s built through consistency and persistence. If you stay focused and keep showing up every day, eventually, people will see the work.
