After decades behind the boards crafting remixes that lit up dance floors, Mark VDH is finally stepping into the spotlight with a full album of his own songs. And if the title tells you anything, Electricity is all about charge — emotional, musical, and personal.
Arriving February 27, 2026, the album moves confidently through dance, electro-pop, progressive house, and vocal house, but this isn’t just a club collection. It’s structured like a classic vinyl record — ten tracks that flow with intention, telling a story about love, resilience, identity, loss, and stepping fully into your power. Think dance music with a heartbeat.
Many of the songs were written during the making of his 2023 documentary Pieces of Us, which spotlighted five LGBTQ hate crime survivors who found strength through shared healing. That spirit of hope and unity pulses throughout the record. The connection runs even deeper: NYC rapper Jipsta, one of the film’s subjects and a longtime collaborator, appears on “I Want You Out,” adding another layer of lived experience.
There are standout moments everywhere. “Hold On to Love,” the extended version of the film’s opening theme, was co-produced with Chris Cox of Thunderpuss and features powerhouse vocals from Debby Holiday. Then there’s “Tomorrow’s Lost Its Way,” the first song Mark ever wrote — more than 40 years ago — now brought to life by Angelica Cox. And the lead single, “Walk It Like You Mean It,” which is already out, is a vibrant tribute to the LGBTQ ballroom community.
Aside from the movie theme, Mark plays every instrument himself, recording in his Los Angeles home studio. The album was mixed by platinum-selling engineer Alex Prieto, giving it polish without losing its soul. Influenced by iconic albums like Rumours, Diva, and Land of the Living, Mark VDH isn’t just chasing singles — he’s reviving the art of the album experience.
For someone who has worked across television, film, and over 300 dance remixes — including Billboard chart hits — Electricity feels like both a culmination and a fresh start. It’s bold, melodic, rhythm-driven, and deeply personal.
Electricity is a fusion of heart, house, and hope.
