Deep Sea Arcade Returns with Dreamlike New Single “Alone in America”

Deep Sea Arcade’s latest single, ‘Alone in America,’ is a dreamlike and emotionally charged reflection that sits at the heart of their ongoing return. As the second taste of their forthcoming third album Colourised (due early 2026), the track carries both intimacy and cinematic scope, embodying themes of displacement, longing, and the fragile beauty of freedom.

Written in memory of their final tour with the late Nick Weaver, Alone in America feels like a poignant snapshot of stillness amidst distance. Nic McKenzie’s vocals carry a sense of yearning, supported by lush arrangements co-produced with Jay Watson (Tame Impala, Pond). What began as lo-fi demos has blossomed into a cross-country collaboration between Sydney and Perth, striking a balance between vulnerability and grandeur.

McKenzie frames the song as a quiet homage to one of his earliest influences, the band America, channelling their harmony-rich sound while layering it with Deep Sea Arcade’s own emotional resonance. The artwork, a solitary roadside pool captured during that South American tour, mirrors the song’s mood with haunting accuracy.

Following the success of “No Direction” (which surpassed 300,000 streams in its first month), “Alone in America” deepens the anticipation for “Colourised”. It’s not just a song, but a reflection on memory, influence, and the delicate line between presence and absence.
