Scottish singer-songwriter Liv Dawn returns with “Home,” a heartfelt ode to family, childhood, and the people who shape us. Released on July 25th as the second single from her forthcoming EP, the track weaves folk, pop, and soft rock into a lush, emotionally rich soundscape—imbued with warmth, love, and deep appreciation.
Recorded at Chem19 Recording Studios with her full band—Aidan Smith (piano), Chris Gilday (electric guitar), and Calum Macleod (drums)—”Home” balances tender lyricism with dynamic instrumentation. Bright piano melodies, layered electric guitars, and driving percussion create a sound that feels both intimate and expansive, mirroring the way cherished memories linger and grow over time.
Liv describes the song as a thank-you letter to her family, celebrating the laughter, lessons, and love that defined her upbringing. “It’s full of nostalgia,” she says, and that sentiment radiates through every note—her vocals warm and sincere, the arrangement swelling with unshakable fondness.
“I wrote ‘Home’ about my family and the memories that made me who I am,” says Liv. ‘It’s full of nostalgia – times of love, laughter, and learning – and it’s also a way of saying thank you. I wanted to show my appreciation for everything they’ve given me.”
Following the success of “Falling For You” (supported by BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, and The Skinny), “Home” further refines Liv’s full-band evolution, proving her ability to merge poignant storytelling with vibrant musicianship.
