Andre 3000’s ‘I swear’ Debuts at No. 90, Breaking Hot 100 Records

Andre 3000 has made history with his debut album, “New Blue Sun,” as the opening track, “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time,” debuted at number 90 on the Hot 100. The track, known for its self-aware and humorous title, marks Andre 3000’s first appearance on the Hot 100 as a solo artist in over a decade.

What sets “I swear” apart is its extensive runtime of 12 minutes and 20 seconds, making it the longest song to ever chart on the Hot 100. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Tool’s “Fear Innoculum,” which charted in 2019 with a runtime of 10 minutes and 23 seconds.

The recognition of the longest songs on the Hot 100 gained attention in 2021 when Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” secured the number one spot with a runtime of 10 minutes and 13 seconds.

Despite the experimental and unconventional nature of Andre 3000’s album, fans have embraced the uniqueness of the project. As “New Blue Sun” continues to make waves, the record-breaking entry on the Hot 100 adds another milestone to Andre 3000’s illustrious career.
